Loan EMI Calculator
Monthly installment, total interest & payment.
About this calculator
A loan's true cost is hidden in the monthly installment, the total interest and the loan tenure together. This EMI calculator takes the loan amount, the annual interest (or profit) rate and the tenure in months or years, then shows the fixed monthly installment, how much of it is interest, and the total you will repay over the life of the loan.
Pakistani borrowers use it for car financing, home loans and personal loans from banks — and for comparing offers, since a slightly lower rate over a longer tenure can still cost more in total. Seeing the total interest figure before signing is the single best way to judge whether a loan is affordable.
How to use
- Enter the loan amount in PKR.
- Enter the annual interest/profit rate and the tenure.
- See your monthly EMI, total interest and total repayment.
- Try shorter tenures to see how much interest you save.
Frequently asked questions
What is EMI?
EMI (Equated Monthly Installment) is the fixed amount you pay every month toward a loan — part of it covers interest and part repays the principal, until the loan is fully paid off.
How does tenure affect EMI?
A longer tenure lowers the monthly installment but increases total interest paid. A shorter tenure does the opposite — higher monthly, much lower total cost.
Do Pakistani banks charge interest or profit?
Conventional banks charge interest; Islamic banks structure it as profit (e.g. diminishing musharakah). The EMI maths is the same either way — enter the rate the bank quotes.
